Tuesday on ABC’s The View, White House hopeful Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke said President Trump is taking America down “the road to fascism and tyranny.”
“A president who described Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals, who said that the Klan were very fine people, who sought to ban all Muslims, all people of one religion from this country, called the press the enemy of the people. This is the road to fascism and tyranny,” O’Rourke said.
This would be simply silly if it weren’t such a hateful lie. Trump did not describe all Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals, never said the Klan were very fine people, never banned all Muslims from entering the country, and never called all press the enemy of the people — only the purveyors of fake news. But O’Rourke’s outrageous claims were gospel truth to the left-leaning co-hosts and audience of The View.
