Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar has introduced a package of foreign policy bills which would radically limit American power abroad, according to Breitbart News.
In a press release, Omar calls the legislative package a “Pathway to PEACE (Progressive, Equitable, and Constructive Engagement)” and described it as “a bold progressive vision to rethink the country’s approach to foreign policy by centering human rights, justice and peace as the pillars of America’s engagement in the world, and making military action a last resort.”
One bill would limit the executive branch’s authority to place economic sanctions, which fits with her disapproval of Trump administration sanctions against Omar favorites like Iran and Venezuela. Another bill, which would prohibit security aid of any kind to foreign nations violating “international humanitarian law,” is no doubt aimed at her favorite target, Israel. Yet another bill would redirect defense spending to the State Dept.
The Muslim Rep.’s aim is clear: radically limit America’s ability to support its allies and contain its enemies.
