Omar Blames Minneapolis Crime Spike on ‘Dysfunctional’ Police

During a recent town hall, radical, antisemitic, Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar, a very vocal supporter of the movement to defund police departments, said that a violent crime surge in Minnesota is due to a “dysfunctional police department” that has “chosen to not fulfill their oath of office.”

“What we must also recognize is that the reduction in policing currently in our city and the lawlessness that is happening is due to two things,” she claimed. “One, the police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office and to provide the public safety they are owed to the citizens they serve.”

Two, she continued, “The Minneapolis Police Department is the most dysfunctional police department in our state and probably in our country, and I do believe that the current charter that we have does tie the hands of those who want want to have that accountability. We are mandated to have a specific amount of policing.”

Omar’s own crime of immigrant fraud has been buried by a complicit news media, and her campaign office pays tens of thousands of dollars every quarter for her private security. She can afford to demand the defunding of police departments and to demonize the cops who put their lives on the line to protect their communities.
