Keith Olbermann was roundly blasted on Tuesday for a bizarre tweet calling President Trump a“whiny little Kunta Kinte,” referring to the fictional slave from the 1970s novel and TV miniseries Roots.
“Yes @realDonaldTrump has always been, will always be, and on the day of his bid for re-election, still is: a whiny little Kunta Kinte,” Olbermann wrote on Twitter in response to a clip from Trump’s election day interview on Fox News’ Fox & Friends.
Both right and left slammed Olbermann on Twitter in response. Journalist Tim Pool simply wrote, “Keith Olbermann is a racist.” The Daily Caller stated, “Olbermann wins the prize for first awful tweet of Election Day.” “Nothing to see here, folks. Just @KeithOlbermann being his unhinged, whiny, racist self,” tweeted another critic.
“I don’t recall watching ‘Roots’ and thinking, “Wow, Kunta Kinte sure whines a lot. Suck it up, slave!” wrote another Twitterer. Tara Reade, Biden sex assault accuser and the one woman Democrats won’t believe, wrote, “Another reason I am happy I left the Democratic Party and will be an Independent. Wow, this tweet still up. Hypocrisy thy name is Democrat. Racism and misogyny all in one party, what could go wrong?”
Yes, Olbermann is a verbal bomb thrower because that’s the only way he can get anyone to listen to him, but this was a new low of idiocy even for him. Perhaps he never should have emerged from the GQ basement studio where he previously had a job.
