Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Wednesday praised Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for grilling Elliot Abrams, the U.S. special representative for Venezuela, during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Venezuela, saying that Omar’s line of questioning “feels like justice.”
Omar had attacked Abrams, whom she referred to as “Mr. Adams,” accusing the former Reagan-era official of characterizing “massacre” and “rape” during the El Salvador civil war a “fabulous” U.S. accomplishment.
“@IlhanMN is a Somali refugee. She has felt the ravages of war,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “watching her question Trump’s envoy to VZ, who pled guilty to several Iran-Contra crimes, feels like justice.”
