Thursday on Twitter, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (often referred to as AOC) suggested combating the coronavirus by paying people to stay home.
“To get the virus under control, we need to pay people to stay home,” the economics-challenged AOC wrote. Her tweet came as Democrat leaders across the country begin to impose new restrictions and lockdowns just in time for Thanksgiving, including limiting the number of people in private homes.
Incompetent New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, for example, has capped private gatherings to ten individuals. Cuomo has tried to shift the blame for making his state foremost in the country in coronavirus deaths on President Trump. Now he wants to appear to be doing something by imposing draconian restrictions on citizens. “There are only two fundamental truths in this situation: it’s individual discipline and it’s government enforcement. Period. End of sentence,” Cuomo wrote in a statement. “I need the local governments to enforce this.”
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is limiting private gatherings to eight people from today through December 13. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is capping private gatherings to “no more than 6 people total, from no more than 2 households.”
This is pointless and totalitarian, but that’s the Democrat way.
