In an interview Sunday with CNN’s Jake Tapper, self-proclaimed Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez avoided direct questions about how she intends to pay for her $40 trillion in government programs.
Repeatedly pressing her about estimates that such programs as free college, student loan forgiveness, and healthcare for all run as high as $40 trillion, Tapper was unable to get anything more than rambling generalizations from Ocasio-Cortez. “I’m assuming I’m not going to get an answer,” Tapper finally concluded.
