Amid highly lucrative deals for books, speeches and Netflix videos, the Obamas may be on their way to becoming a billion-dollar brand.
Former first lady Michelle Obama’s new memoir Becoming is part of a $65 million book advance for books written by both her and the former president Barack. It is the highest amount ever paid for a presidential memoir.
Michelle could make millions just from her 10-city tour to promote her autobiography. She also can command $225,000 for other paid speeches. Barack makes $400,000 per speech and also receives a $207,800 annual presidential pension.
Earlier this year, the Obamas entered a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix to produce new films and shows.
