Obama: Trump’s Fraud Claims ‘Delegitimizing’ Democracy

November 14, 2020

In part of an interview set to air on CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes released on Thursday, former President Barack Obama stated that President Trump’s claims of widespread election fraud are “one more step in delegitimizing, not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally, and that’s a dangerous path.”

Obama said Trump’s claims “appear to be motivated, in part, because the president doesn’t like to lose, and never admits loss.” This is rich, considering that the Democrats have been in denial about the loss Trump handed them in 2016 and have fought for four years to unseat him.

“I’m more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials, who clearly know better are going along with this,” Obama continued, “are humoring him in this fashion. It is one more step in delegitimizing, not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally, and that’s a dangerous path.”

The dangerous path is the one Democrats have already gone down, and that is the massive voter fraud committed in this election, the media coverup in its wake, and the left’s refusal to admit its second loss to Trump. That is what delegitimizes democracy.
