“Every American, regardless of party, should support President Biden’s efforts, in coordination with our closest allies, to impose hard-hitting sanctions on Russia,” Obama said, defending Biden’s sanctions as a serious attempt to put “a real price on Russia’s autocratic elites.”
What every American, regardless of party, needs to support is a serious attempt to stop to the autocratic elites in our own country, like Barack Obama and Joe Biden. As for Russia, its leader is undeterred by Biden’s pointless sanctions.
Obama’s faux-tough bluster, by the way, follows his own failure to stop Putin from annexing Crimea in 2014 when he was president.
“There may be some economic consequences to such sanctions, given Russia’s significant role in world energy markets,” Obama continued. “But that’s a price we should be willing to pay to take a stand on the side of freedom.”
First, there would be no economic consequences for Americans if Biden hadn’t shut down the energy independence his predecessor Donald Trump put in place.
And second, if Obama and the Biden administration truly cared about standing on the side of freedom, they would have spoken out against the recent totalitarianism at our own northern border — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s crackdown on peaceful, protesting truckers. But they didn’t, because they don’t.
