In an article Wednesday titled “The Border Is Broken,” The New York Times blamed President Trump for the recent massive influx of foreigners into the U.S.
In a break from its previous position that there is no border crisis, the Times argues that Trump’s refusal to welcome a new wave of Central American migrants has caused a border breakdown.
“For years, both political parties have tried — and failed — to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws, mindful that someday the government would reach a breaking point. That moment has arrived. The country is now unable to provide either the necessary humanitarian relief for desperate migrants or even basic controls on the number and nature of who is entering” the U.S.
