New Football League Couldn’t Afford Kaepernick

February 15, 2019

The new Alliance of American Football (AAF) reportedly sought to recruit former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick but couldn’t afford him.

AAF co-founder Bill Polian said CEO Charlie Ebersol reached out to Kaepernick, but the controversial, anti-cop, anthem protester’s asking price was $20 million or more to consider playing with the league, which opened with its first set of games last weekend.

“I don’t know what transpired, but he’s obviously not playing,” Polian said.
