During an appearance in Texas over the weekend, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi expressed confidence that she will have “the gavel in hand” again in the future.
“If the Democrats take the House,” Pelosi was asked, “are you going to be the person with the gavel in your hand, and are you going to be the person that calls up Donald Trump to try to work with him?”
Pelosi avoided answering the question about working with her nemesis Trump and asserted, “Yes, I anticipate that I’ll be the person with the gavel in hand, but I haven’t asked anybody for a vote, in fact, I’ve told the candidates, ‘Do whatever you have to do, just win baby,’” she said.
