On the House floor on Thursday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally condemned rioters after months of violent unrest in Democrat-controlled cities across the U.S., claiming that Democrats support “peaceful demonstrations.”

“We support peaceful demonstrations,” she stated laughably. “We participate in them. They are part of the essence of our democracy. That does not include looting, starting fires, or rioting. They should be prosecuted. That is lawlessness.

“I’m very proud that Joe Biden has presented the clarity of that. Making a distinction that I don’t think our colleagues quite understand, but the American people do,” she continued, citing a poll showing that Americans “support congressional Democrats over President Trump in terms of dealing with the issue of crime in our country, for all of their misrepresentations.”

That is ludicrous. For months, Americans have been witnessing the truth: that Democrats are the party of lawlessness and chaos, the party demonizing and defunding the police, the party whose leaders, including Pelosi, allowed Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters to tear down statues, burn and loot businesses, and hold America hostage to race-mongering extortion.

The truth behind Pelosi’s condemnation of mob violence is that Democrat leaders are finally wising up to the fact that their party is taking a big hit in the polling, thanks to the radical left’s chaos. So now they decide to take a stand.
