Former actress and current Progressive activist Alyssa Milano said on Wednesday that socialist Bernie Sanders is “intellectually and morally bankrupt” for accepting campaign donations during the coronavirus pandemic.
“It is intellectually bankrupt for Bernie to pretend that not unifying the party today is advantageous to a democratic victory in November,” said Milano. “He is still taking donations from people during crisis on a campaign that has no path forward! It’s intellectually and morally bankrupt.”
The floundering presidential hopeful Sanders apparently is continuing to accept donations, but his campaign announced last week that over $2 million of it went to charities involved in coronavirus relief efforts.
Sanders has admitted he faces a “very steep road” to the Democrat nomination, but he insists “[w]e have a strong grassroots movement who believe that we have got to stay in in order to continue the fight…”
But when you’ve lost Alyssa Milano…
