Michigan Judge Rejects Whitmer Demand to Close Barbershop

May 12, 2020

On Monday, a Michigan judge denied a motion made by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration that a barber close his shop during the coronavirus outbreak.

The judge denied the state’s demand that Karl Manke, 77, close his barbershop for being in violation of Whitmer’s draconian lockdown order. The state Attorney General’s request noted that he “deemed Mr. Manke’s business an imminent danger to public health in light of the COVID 19 pandemic” and directed him to “immediately cease operations.” Manke had reopened his shop after unemployment benefits were denied 3 times. He’d been fined repeatedly for violating Whitmer’s order, but supporters paid the fines.

In related news, Michigan Sheriff Brian BeGole announced Monday that he will not enforce Whitmer’s order: “I have decided, within my authority, that our office cannot and will not divert our primary resources and efforts towards enforcement” of the order.

The people have had enough, and they’re pushing back against the petty Democrat tyrants.
