Mayor Ben Zahn of Kenner, Louisiana signed a memo last week which declares that “[u]nder no circumstances” can any Nike apparel or equipment be “purchased for use or delivery” at any recreation facilities in the city.
The report came after sporting apparel giant Nike was criticized for putting Black Lives Matter activist and former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the face of its “Just Do It” campaign. “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything,” reads the campaign’s slogan, which has sparked outrage among conservatives.
