Monday on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, Assistant Health Secretary Rachel Levine, the first high-ranking openly transgender official confirmed by the U.S. Senate, argued for health policy to support “trans youth,” blaming “politically motivated” “harassment and bullying” for their mental issues.
“Well, you know, trans youth are vulnerable, and they suffer significant harassment and bullying, sometimes in schools or their community,” Levine said. “They have more mental health issues, but there’s nothing inherent with being transgender or gender diversity, which would predispose youth to depression or anxiety. It’s that harassment and bullying.”
False. Transgender youth suffer a much higher risk of suicide and depression precisely because of issues associated with their gender confusion, not because of harassment and bullying. If anything, our culture today demands mandatory celebration of youth who “come out” as transgender or “non-binary.” They are elevated to a status that is nothing less than heroic.
“Now they are suffering politically motivated attacks through state actions against these vulnerable transgender youth,” Levine continued. “And so we really want to base our treatment and affirm and to support and empower these youth, not to limit their participation activities in sports and even limit their ability to get gender-affirmation treatment in their state.”
The “state actions” he is referring to are laws aimed at protecting women’s sports from being utterly dominated by biological males claiming to identify as women. As for being political motivated, it is the bullying trans lobby itself and neo-Marxist subversives like Levine who are operating from a politically-motivated agenda: the Left’s agenda to destroy the family underpinning of the capitalist West by eradicating sex distinctions.
