Lee: Build Back Better Increased Inflation But Invested in People

May 5, 2022

Wednesday on the Fox News Channel’s America Reports, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) demonstrated just how uncaring Democrats are about the , stating that passing the Build Back Better legislation “might have created a slight uptick in inflation” but in the long run it would “invest in people, particularly with climate change and others.”

Asked about the burdensome impact Biden’s “Build Back Better” program would have had, had it passed, and about the current inflation “due to all the money that we threw at everything over the last two years,” Lee lied in response: “We had to do that. And frankly, the American people, Republicans and Democrats and independents, received those funds, single parents and others desperate[ly] needed those funds. I frankly know that when we had looked at the Build Back Better, it was investing in people and it was going to generate revenue as it might have created a slight uptick in inflation. It was going to invest in people, particularly with climate change and others.”

Build Back Better was never about investing in people. It was always about expanding Democrat power and increasing people’s dependence on the government.
