President Joe Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain incurred a tsunami of mockery Monday when he shared an op-ed column by Albert Hunt, the former editor of Bloomberg News, that appeared under the headline, “Let’s be honest: 2021 wasn’t all bad.”
Needless to say, the ridicule on social media came thick and fast. The vast majority of the Twitter users who responded wondered whether the out-of-touch tweet was satire, because 2021 has obviously been a year of surging COVID cases, the debacle of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, soaring gas prices and record inflation, supply chain issues, the collapse of our southern border, and plunging public faith in Biden and his utterly incompetent and unlikeable deputy Kamala Harris.
