Minnesota’s Muslim Attorney General Keith Ellison on Monday defended his son Jeremiah’s declaration of support for the domestic terror group Antifa.
“I hereby declare, officially, my support for ANTIFA,” Jeremiah tweeted in response to Trump’s announcement that he would designate Antifa a terrorist organization. “Unless someone can prove to me ANTIFA is behind the burning of black and immigrant owned businesses in my ward, I’ll keep focusing on stopping the white power terrorist THE ARE ACTUALLY ATTACKING US!”
AG Ellison told CNN that it was “a comment about the absurdity of the president’s comment more than anything else,” saying he has not seen “any evidence” of Antifa being behind the nationwide violent riots.
You will recall that in 2018 Ellison proudly displayed a copy of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook in a since-deleted tweet in which he wrote, “At @MoonPalaceBooks and I just found the book that strike [sic] fear in the heart of @realDonaldTrump.”
