On Twitter on Thursday, failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris tweeted that President Trump is essentially throwing a “welcome home party” for white supremacists by holding a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on a date commemorating the end of slavery.
The Los Angeles Times posted a tweet announcing that Trump would hold a rally on June 19 or Juneteenth Day, “when many Americans commemorate the end of slavery, in a city that was home to an infamous 1921 massacre of Black people, one of the worst racial atrocities in the nation’s history.”
Retweeting that post, Harris commented, “This isn’t just a wink to white supremacists—he’s throwing them a welcome home party.”
So, in the same manner in which then-candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 condemned Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables,” Harris is publicly smearing Trump supporters as white supremacists. These are the same people who complain that Trump is divisive.
