Kamala Harris Urges Congress to Act on Gun Violence

November 19, 2018

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) declared Sunday that gun violence has taken too many lives and Congress needs to do more about it.

“No matter what community you live in, from Parkland to Chicago to South Los Angeles, no one is immune from the gun violence epidemic,” she wrote on Twitter. “There have been too many tragedies. We need Congress to act.”

A Parkland, Florida high school – officially a gun-free zone – was the site of a Valentine’s Day attack that killed 17. Los Angeles, California, was the scene of a shooting that took 14 lives at the Borderline Bar & Grill, a state-mandated gun-free business. Chicago is a perennial gun murder capitol of the United States despite being a heavily gun-controlled city.
