Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) officially announced her presidential candidacy on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, in a sit-down interview with ABC’s Good Morning America.
“I am running for president of the United States,” she told co-hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, “and I’m very excited about it.
“The American people deserve to have someone who is going to fight for them, who is going to see them, who will hear them, who will care about them and put them in front of self-interest,” Harris added.
