On Tuesday, Democrat VP candidate Kamala Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom met for a photo op in Fresno County and expressed their united message that climate change is to blame for the devastation caused by wildfires plaguing the state. “Sadly, these wildfires and the devastation they cause are utterly predictable,” Harris said. “This is not a partisan issue. This is just a fact. We have to do better as a country.”
The fires are predictable not because of climate change, but because they’ve happened every year for centuries. We don’t have to “do better as a country” — Democrat-controlled California just has to do better as a state.
Touring the leveled homes where only chimneys were left standing, Harris melodramatically mused, “Those chimneys remind me of tombstones. We have to understand that California, like so many other parts of our country, has experienced extreme weather conditions. It is incumbent on us, in terms of the leadership of our nation, to take seriously these new changes in our climate, and to do what we can to mitigate against the damage.”
Well, sensible forest management would be a good start, but Democrat environmentalist dogma won’t allow for that.
Combating Antifa arsonists would also help, but Democrats refuse to rein in their shock troops because they are useful for politically damaging Trump.
