Kaine: Russia Sanctions Will Expose if GOP Are ‘Appeasers’

Tuesday on MSNBC’s All In, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) said the upcoming vote in Congress to sanction Russia for their invasion into Ukrainian territory will expose whether Republican lawmakers are “appeasers” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Asked if Republicans are going to work with Democrats to further the Biden foreign policy agenda (whatever that is), Kaine replied, “Yes, I think there will be some who will follow Donald Trump. Donald Trump calling Putin’s move a genius move, a savvy move, you, know he couldn’t get a Nobel prize, so maybe he’s trying now for the Order of Lenin, or even better, finally, a Trump Tower in Moscow. But we will put our Republican colleagues on the board and see whether they’re Vladimir Putin appeasers or they’re standing up for the Western democracies…”

If Kaine and his tough-talking fellow Democrat blowhards really care about defending freedom around the world, they could start with sanctioning the totalitarian Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of our neighbor to the north, over his ruthless crackdown on truckers protesting COVID mandates. But they won’t because they’re Trudeau appeasers, and because they — not Trump — are the supporters of authoritarian dictators around the world.
