Kaepernick: ‘Revolting’ the ‘Only Logical Reaction’ to Floyd Death

May 28, 2020

Unemployable NFL quarterback and anthem-protesting Black Lives Matter supporter Colin Kaepernick took to social media Thursday in defense of the nationwide rioting in the wake of the death of George Floyd in an officer-involved incident.

Video released from the arrest in Minneapolis Monday showed an officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck while he screamed he couldn’t breathe. Floyd later died as a result of the incident. Protests ensued in the days following, with looting and several buildings burning Wednesday night. Four officers involved were fired.

“When civility leads to death, revolting is the only logical reaction,” Kaepernick tweeted, referring to the widespread property destruction, looting, and violence . “The cries for peace will rain down, and when they do, they will land on deaf ears, because your violence has brought this resistance. We have the right to fight back! Rest in Power George Floyd.”

On the contrary, “revolting” is not logical, even when officers are found guilty. Rioting is only ever irrational, chaotic, unhelpful and destructive.
