Former HUD Secretary Julian Castro was the first 2020 Democrat hopeful to call on Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam to resign in the wake of a racially-charged yearbook photo controversy.
Many of Castro’s Democrat cohorts, including Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, and Eric Holder joined in, as did Progressive groups such as the NAACP, Latino Victory, Planned Parenthood, and MoveOn.org.
“He is absolutely an extreme leftist,” Texas Republican Party chairman James Dickey told Breitbart about Castro, whose mother Maria del Rosario Castro co-founded La Raza Unida, an extremist third party separatist group in the 1970s.
