Julian Castro Defends His Brother Doxxing Trump Donors

August 9, 2019

White House hopeful Julián Castro defended his brother Joaquin Castro‘s doxxing of dozens of local Trump donors by posting their names and businesses online.

When a reporter asked him why his brother and campaign chair had posted the information, inviting harassment of these donors, Castro replied, “It doesn’t matter where somebody’s coming from, whether the right or the left. It’s not okay for people to harass other people. Nobody ever said that it was,” Castro said.

Pressed further, Castro defended the potentially dangerous action: “What he did is not ‘doxing,’” Castro falsely claimed. “Anybody who understand what doxxing is know that — he did not do that, all right? What he did was he put forward publicly available information that was already out there. The right wing want to make this a story because they want to pretend like in some way that’s equivalent to the hate or the division that Donald Trump is fostering in this country.”

What’s clear is that the Left embraces political intimidation and violence against its opponents.
