Thursday on MSNBC’s All In, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries said Congress would investigate the Trump administration for using D.C. police and the National Guard to clear out protesters during Trump’s walk to St. John’s Church.
Jeffries claimed that Trump is “enlisting the military of federal law enforcement officials in a manner that clearly subverts and undermines the United States Constitution which clearly provides in the First Amendment, the freedom of speech, the freedom of assembly, the freedom to petition your government,” .
He went on to perpetuate the debunked claim that Trump “unleashed tear gas and rubber bullets on peaceful protesters in order to create a political photo op.” Then he added that the House will conduct hearings next week “to discuss a variety of issues,” including “the president’s subversion of the United States Constitution as well as the police violence epidemic that we have to address.”
The only violence epidemic and Constitution-subversion are being waged by leftist rioters and looters. How about a hearing on that, Jeffries?
