Thursday on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries claimed with no evidence that President Trump has been engaged in a “continuing conspiracy to subvert our free and fair elections” since 2016.
“Let me put this in context,” Jeffries said, referring to the Democrat push to provide the Postal Service with up to $25 billion in emergency funding, which Trump opposes. “This is the most corrupt administration in American history, and this is all part of a continuing conspiracy to subvert our free and fair elections. It started back in 2016 where, according to Bob Mueller himself, a lifetime Republican, the Trump campaign welcomed the foreign interference by the Russians, which was designed explicitly to artificially place him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.” Completely false. The three-year Mueller investigation uncovered zero evidence of Russian election collusion.
Jeffries went on to falsely characterize the purported Ukraine “scandal” as Trump’s effort to smear the corrupt Joe Biden — also demonstrably false. “And now there’s this vicious effort in the middle of a pandemic to try to shut down the postal service so they can’t be universal mail-in voting,” he added.
Jeffries is pushing this narrative because his party desperately needs voting-by-mail to cheat in November.
