Jarrett: ‘No Chance’ Michelle Obama Will Be Biden’s VP

April 22, 2020

Former White House official Valerie Jarrett told The Hill that there is “no chance” former First Lady Michelle Obama would become the running mate of presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden.

“I’d take her in a heartbeat,” Biden had said in a Monday interview with CBS Pittsburgh. “She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends.” However, “I don’t think she has any desire to live near the White House again.”

Jarrett confirmed this. “The reason why I’m being so unequivocal is that there just simply has never been a time when [Michelle’s] expressed an interest in running for office,” she said. “She’s not demurring here. She’s not being hard to get. She doesn’t want the job.”

Biden has declared that he wants a female VP, so should he be the nominee, which is unlikely considering his Party knows he stands no chance against incumbent Donald Trump in November, his possible running mates include Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Gretchen Whitmer.
