ISIS Linked to Murder of Female Backpackers in Morocco

December 21, 2018

Moroccan authorities have linked the gruesome murders of two Scandinavian backpackers to the terror group ISIS.

The mutilated bodies of Louisa Vesterager Jespersen of Denmark, 24, and Maren Ueland from Norway, 28, were found at a camping area in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco on Monday. One of the women was found inside the pair’s tent; the other, who had been beheaded, was found nearby. Both had been sexually assaulted.

Four men were caught on surveillance tape pitching a tent near the women, and leaving after only one night. One of the suspects has been arrested after dropping his ID when he fled the area. According to the Rabat prosecutor, he was found to have ties to ISIS.
