Finally caving to political pressure from Republicans, in-over-her-head Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly will hurry to visit the overwhelmed southern U.S. border before former President Donald Trump’s planned visit next Wednesday.
Harris, who has spend at least three months traipsing around Central America purportedly investigating the “root causes” of the flood of illegal migrants invading the U.S., is expected to visit El Paso, Texas, on Friday.
During her trip to Guatemala and Mexico, Harris struggled to answer questions about visiting the border, describing it as a “grand gesture” she would avoid. A contentious exchange with NBC reporter Lester Holt only further embarrassed Harris after she flippantly and illogically defended herself by saying, “I haven’t been to Europe, either.”
At the end of her trip, she finally acknowledged she would visit the border “at some point” in the future. Not that that will help. Harris has no idea what she’s doing or how to handle a crisis of this — or any — magnitude.
“What Biden and Harris have done, and are continuing to do on our border, is a grave and willful dereliction of duty,” Trump said in a recent statement. “My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation—and show the incredible people of ICE and Border Patrol that they have our unshakeable support.”
