On Thanksgiving Day on social media, Muslim antisemite Rep. Ilhan Omar accused Reepublican Rep. Lauren Boebert of fabricating an “anti-Muslim” story she was filmed telling her supporters during a campaign event in Colorado.
Boebert told supporters she recently had a run-in with Omar in a Capitol building elevator. “I look to my left and there she is: Ilhan Omar. And I said, ‘Well, she doesn’t have a backpack. We should be fine,’” Boebert said, sparking cheers. “I looked over and I said, ‘Oh look, the jihad squad decided to show up for work today.’
Predictably, Omar’s fellow “Squad radicals chimed in with complaints of “Islamophobia.” Rep. Rashida Tlaib tweeted, “These pathetic racist lies will not only endanger the life of @IlhanMN, but will increase hate crimes towards Muslims.”
“Shameful, deeply offensive & dangerous,” Rep. Ayanna Pressley added. “Yet another blatant display of Islamophobia targeting @IlhanMN. These comments are personally hurtful, legitimately endanger her & the broader Muslim community. Rhetoric like this must be denounced & anyone spewing it held to account.”
“Capitol Hill is a toxic work environment for Muslim members and staff when bigots routinely spew racist, Islamophobic vitriol unchecked and with no consequence,” Rep. Cori Bush tweeted.
Omar herself tweeted in response to Boebert’s story, “Fact, this buffoon looks down when she sees me at the Capitol, this whole story is made up. Sad she thinks bigotry gets her clout. Anti-Muslim bigotry isn’t funny & shouldn’t be normalized. Congress can’t be a place where hateful and dangerous Muslims tropes get no condemnation.”
Fact, Omar is a sharia-supporting, antisemitic radical. She is arguably the biggest bigot on Capitol Hill. As for “dangerous Muslim tropes”: if Omar doesn’t like people making a connection between Islam and terrorism, perhaps she should encourage her fellow believers to stop waging violent jihad worldwide.
