During Friday’s Democratic Weekly Address, Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. Mazie Hirono stated that Senate Democrats have tried to focus on the real-world impact that Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s rulings would have and “That’s what Justice Ginsburg called on the Court to do — to consider the real-world impact of its decisions.”
“These are not normal times,” Hirono began. True, so far. “All across the country, millions of our fellow Americans are sitting around their kitchen tables worried about the future. Some of them have lost their jobs and are unable to purchase food for their families. Others are struggling to make rent or pay their mortgage. And too many are mourning a loved one – whose empty seat at the table is a painful reminder of the terrible human cost of COVID-19.”
And who is responsible for that economic impact of the coronavirus? Not President Trump, but the draconian lockdowns of Democrat leaders across the country, which have led to the loss of millions of jobs and the closing of hundreds of thousands of businesses. And the Democrats want to continue their totalitarian measures.
Hirono went on to claim that instead of focusing on a coronavirus relief bill, “Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are rushing to confirm a new Supreme Court Justice – a Justice they expect to be the decisive 5th vote to take away health care protections from millions of Americans in the middle of a pandemic…
“That’s what [the late] Justice [Ruth Bader] Ginsburg called on the Court to do – to consider the real-world impact of its decisions,” Hirono added.
This is typical of Democrat fear-mongering and projection. Unlike what Obamacare actually did, newly-confirmed Judge Amy Coney Barrett isn’t going to take away anyone’s healthcare protections. And it is the Democrats who have obstructed a relief bill by trying to ram through items on the Progressive agenda that are unrelated to the coronavirus.
