While commenting on the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took the opportunity to sideswipe the Trump administration over its immigration policies.
“The bottom line is that [Assange] has to answer for what he has done, at least as it has been charged,” Clinton said Thursday at the Beacon Theater in New York City. “I do think it’s a little ironic that he’s the only foreigner this administration would welcome to the United States,” she added.
Assange had been arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London and charged with conspiring to illegally access a classified Department of Defense computer.
