During the Democrat debate on Thursday night, Sen. Kamala Harris incorrectly claimed that President Trump has not been indicted solely because of a DOJ memo.
According to Breitbart News, Harris said, “The only reason you’ve not been indicted is because there was a memo in the Department of Justice that says a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime,” a claim debunked in July by special counsel Robert Mueller before the House Judiciary Committee.
Harris blamed the president for sowing “hate and division” among Americans and accused him of telling over “twelve thousand lies” to distract from his purported “failed policies” and “broken promises.” By contrast, “I plan on focusing on common issues, our common hopes and desires, and in that way unifying our country, winning this election, and turning the page for America,” Harris added. “And now, President Trump, you can go back to watching Fox News.”
Harris also said, “I have a few words for Donald Trump, who we all know is watching,” although he was actually delivering a speech in Baltimore at the time.
