Florida Democrat Andrew Gillum, who failed in his gubernatorial bid against Republican Ron DeSantis in November, is set to address top Democrat Party donors gathered in Washington amid speculation that he’s considering a 2020 presidential run.
Gillum, one of the young Democrats who excited party activists nationally, will be the surprise speaker before a closed crowd of about 300 Democrat National Committee donors Tuesday in a Washington hotel.
The DNC hopes to close its fundraising deficit with the Republican National Committee at a time when an unusually large group of potential presidential candidates will compete for limited funding.
