A new poll gives Democrat Andrew Gillum a 6-point lead over Republican Ron DeSantis in a hotly-contested gubernatorial campaign in Florida.

The Reuters–Ipsos–UVA Center for Politics poll found that 50 percent of voters surveyed support Gillum, compared to 44 percent backing DeSantis.

Gillum, currently the mayor of Tallahassee, has the support of socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and has campaigned on a similarly Progressive agenda that includes expanding Medicare to cover everyone.
