Democrat Party candidate and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum has a slight lead over Republican U.S. Representative Ron DeSantis in Florida’s governor’s race, according to a new poll.

The poll by Quinnipiac University found that 50 percent of likely voters would vote for Gillum and 47 percent for DeSantis. Gillum is endorsed by socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and backed by prominent leftist billionaires George Soros and Tom Steyer.
