At a Hollywood fundraiser Wednesday to assist women in the entertainment industry, presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand urged companies to “invest in elections locally” to protect abortion rights.
The pro-abortion Gillibrand has vowed to “only appoint judges and justices that see Roe v. Wade as settled precedent,” “codify” Roe v. Wade, and remove the Hyde Amendment prohibiting federal funding for abortions.
Regarding a boycott of Georgia over its recent anti-abortion law, she said, “I think the industry will decide whether they want to use that tool or not, but I know that women’s voices are more powerful than anything.” She recommended that companies “invest in elections locally to unseat this radical conservative legislature that doesn’t value women.”
