Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said Wednesday that if Democrats take control of the Senate in November’s midterm elections, she would want to reopen the investigation into sexual misconduct accusations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“I’d be in favor of opening an investigation into the allegations,” Feinstein, the ranking minority member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said during a debate in San Francisco with her challenger, state Sen. Kevin de León, who also would favor reopening the investigation.
The Kavanaugh confirmation process turned into a media circus after Feinstein leaked information that one of Kavanaugh’s accusers, Christine Blasey Ford, had approached the senator with her allegations.
