Barack Obama‘s former attorney general Eric Holder said when conservatives “go low” the left should “kick them.”
In an appearance over the weekend in Georgia, Holder said that Democrats must get more “tough” if they’re going to prevail. This new attitude would represent the “new Democratic Party.”
“[Republicans] have used the power that they have gotten for all the wrong things,” Holder said. “They want to keep themselves in power. They want to cater to the special interests. It is time for us as Democrats to be as tough as they are, to be as dedicated as they are, to be as committed as they are.
“Michelle [Obama] always says, you know, when they go low, we go high,” Holder continued. “No. No. When they go low, we kick them.” This line drew laughter and applause from the crowd.
