Breitbart reports that LGBT activist and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is seeing ratings for her show plunge to an all-time low in the wake of mounting accusations that she oversaw a hostile work environment in which staffers were mistreated and in some cases sexually harassed and assaulted by producers.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show drew a 1.0 live and same-day household rating for the week ending July 26, a 9-point drop from the prior week and a 29-point freefall from the same week last summer.
The longtime show has been under investigation from corporate parent WarnerMedia after dozens of former employees alleged they were verbally and even sexually abused by upper-level producers. Ellen herself claimed she was unaware of the issues, but at least one former producer has asserted that Ellen was aware of the toxic environment and even encouraged it.
Stars Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson have publicly dismissed Ellen’s apology and called it “common knowledge” that Ellen herself mistreated staffers.
