Wednesday on MSNBC’s Deadline, Sen. Tammy Duckworth declared that Republicans “would rather defend traitors and spread lies” than defend democracy because they sided with former President Donald Trump over the “truth.”
“I’m not surprised that Republican leaders in both the House and the Senate are looking to block the bipartisan commission to look into what happened that day,” Duckworth said, referring to the Democrats’ effort to launch an investigation into the Capitol breach on January 6.
Duckworth continued, “Time and time again, they chose to stand with Donald Trump and his lies. Time and again, given the opportunity to do so, and when push comes to shove, they fold and stand with Donald Trump. They have shown they’d rather choose Donald Trump over the truth. They would rather defend traitors and spread lies than defend our democracy. I wish I could say I was surprised, but they have done this time and again. When push comes to shove, they choose Donald Trump over our democracy.”
Duckworth and her fellow Democrats are, in fact, the liars who have chosen a lust for power over our democracy. They stole the 2020 election through massive voter fraud and then, to demonize their political opponents, they fabricated a false narrative that Trump incited an “insurrection” of the Capitol.
Duckworth and her fellow Democrats are, in fact, the traitors.
