Axios reports that Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) reportedly praised Republican Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) to powerful Washington, D.C. lobbyists.
“I love Andy Biggs,” Sinema said of the House Republican. “I know some people think he’s crazy, but that’s just because they don’t know him.”
Sinema has also reportedly spoken warmly of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the Republican House minority leader.
As if this weren’t enough to set her fellow Democrats seething, Sinema had already alienated them by opposing President Biden’s trillion-dollar “Build Back Better” agenda. She reportedly said that there were “five or six” other Senate Democrats “hiding behind my skirt” in a secret resistance to Build Back Better.
Kyrsten Sinema is one of the very few Democrats like Joe Manchin who have been a thorn in the side of establishment Democrats. At the rate she is refusing to march in lockstep with them, she may be Republican by the midterm elections.
