Democrats Adam Schiff, Dianne Feinstein, and Kamala Harris announced legislation on Friday to create a bipartisan 9/11-style commission to investigate the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus.
The commission, Schiff declared in a statement, will “examine U.S. government preparedness in advance of this pandemic, the Federal government’s response to it, and provide recommendations to improve our ability to respond to and recover from future outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics.” It will also examine state and local governments’ preparedness and response.
“It is clear that a comprehensive and authoritative review will be required, not as a political exercise to cast blame, but to learn from our mistakes to prevent history from tragically repeating itself,” Schiff added.
Of course it will cast blame. The whole point of what will be yet another costly, failed Democrat investigation is to find something, anything, to pin on Trump. The claim of Russian election collusion didn’t work. Impeachment didn’t work. This won’t either.
