After VP Mike Pence stayed recently at Trump Intl. Golf Links In Doonbeg, Ireland, House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings sent letters to Trump administration and Trump Organization officials calling the trip a possible “conflict of interest” and “waste of taxpayer funds,” according to Breitbart.
Cummings told the officials that the Democrat-led Committee “does not believe that U.S. taxpayer funds should be used to personally enrich President Trump, his family, and his companies.” He claimed the trip might be a “conflict of interest” and “waste of taxpayer funds,” or even a violation of the Domestic Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.
Cummings demanded the White House hand over documents with “itemized costs” for Pence’s trip and President Trump’s June 2019 trip to Trump Doonbeg.
