Cop-Hating Kaepernick Inspires New Flavor of Ben & Jerry’s

December 11, 2020

Ben & Jerry’s, a company as well-known for its leftist activism as for its ice cream, announced on Thursday that it has partnered with unemployable NFL ex-quarterback and Black Lives Matter activist Colin Kaepernick, to bring consumers a non-dairy, vegan-flavored flavored ice cream called, “Change the Whirled.”

“We are so inspired by Colin Kaepernick’s bold activism for racial justice that we did what we do best: We whipped up a euphoric flavor to honor his work,” Ben & Jerry’s crowed in a statement.

Kaepernick himself also celebrated the partnership in a tweet: “I’ve teamed up with @BenAndJerrys to serve up joy on the journey to justice! Today, we’re excited to introduce Change the Whirled, a new non-dairy flavor that hits shelves in early-2021! 100% of my proceeds will go to @yourrightscamp with matching support from Ben & Jerry’s.

“Joy on the journey to justice” — that’s cute. Know Your Rights Camp is a camp Kapernick began years ago whose aim “is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities.”

The new flavor will make its debut in 2021. This is pure social justice virtue-signaling on Ben & Jerrys’ part, since it’s impossible to imagine that there is a whopping demand for vegan-flavored ice cream, much less one with Kaepernick’s picture on the packaging.
